Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association Playground is new, accessible, and features many fun setups, including ziplines and tandem swings. Here’s our review so you know what to expect when visiting.
This fun playground is located in the north part of Calgary along Centre Street and has lots of fun features we havenβt seen before (even though we visit lots of different playgrounds).
The biggest hit was, not surprisingly, the zipline. With two different options, every child, no matter the age, can try the zipline. I loved the tandem swings; you can swing together on a regular seat for older kids or with your toddler in a different seat.
The Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association playground has a soft floor, an accessible ramp with four slides, a musical setup on the ground, two big rope climbers for older kids, and a 4-person sway swing.
Thereβs a shaded picnic table at the playground with a few more benches and a lovely green space for adults to relax.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Thorncliffe Greenview Community Association playground.

Playground features
The main structure of the playground is accessible via a ramp or two other climbing options. Then thereβs one small slide, a few activity panels, and a slightly bigger triple slide.
The 4-person sway swing is fun, but the only line-up was for the zipline. Older kids, or even adults, can use a zipline sitting on a disk, and smaller kids can use the other zipline with an accessible seat.
For climbing, thereβs a big rope climber behind the zip lines and a rope spinner.
The tandem swings are amazing; you can sway away with your kid, regardless of age. I strapped my son in the accessible seat, and we both enjoyed swinging together. The other tandem swing has regular seats for older kids or adults. If you like tandem swings, thereβs one at 4th Avenue Flyover Park Playground in Bridgeland or Ramsay playground.
And last by not least, the musical flowers provide great entertainment for small kids.
Relax options
The playground has several seating options β two shaded picnic tables right at the playground, big boulders around the playground or several benches on the grassy area.
What’s close by
The huge park where the playground is located provides lots of space for running around, a toboggan hill, and a disc golf course.
Thorncliffe-Greenview Community Association offers an ice rink, racquetball courts, bowling, and a restaurant.
