Desert Safari

If a desert safari is not on your agenda then it most definitely needs to be. As one of the most popular tourist attractions for any experience or age, it is a must-do while visiting Dubai. Desert safaris take you on an adventure into the sand dunes where you can enjoy dune bashing, camel riding and even sandboarding. You end your day with an incredible local dinner buffet and entertainment under the stars. Dune Bashing 

You may have seen the words “dune bashing” above and wondered what that could even mean? Well, in Dubai terms, it means getting into a 4×4 and speeding across the endless hills of sand. The mix between skidding in a car and being on a roller coaster will have you scream laughing your way to adrenaline heaven.

Cars, like hummers or land cruisers, are built to take on the sand dunes no problem. Racing all over its uneven terrain, making it one of the most exciting off-roading experiences you can have. Many safaris have the dune bashing option available but solo dune bashing experiences are also doable. So strap in and have some fun!

Sky Diving

There is no bigger adrenaline rush than skydiving and no better place to do it than in Dubai. Not only does Dubai have top of the line skydiving facilities with expert staff, but the coastal views will have you wanting to get right back in the plane and jump again.

At 4,000 meters up in the air, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Burj Khalifa, Palm Islands which are manmade islands to look like a palm tree, and world islands where you guessed it, are manmade islands to look like the world, and of course the vast desert inland. There is no better way to see Dubai than from above!

Quad Biking

If Dune Bashing is something that is interesting to you than quad biking will surely have you at the edge of your seat. Quad bikes are light with wider tires than normal, making them perfect for taking on the sandy terrain. Plus, they aren’t complicated to ride, making them easy for any experience level.

While sitting in a car and driving through the sand is one thing, going solo on a bike is another. The thrill of riding a bike with little to no restriction on such a landscape as the desert is undoubtedly a once in a lifetime experience here in Dubai.

Sand Boarding

Snowboarders and surfers (or those who just enjoy something a little different) look no further! There are mountains covered in snow and graceful waves in the ocean, but here in Dubai, you have the natural tall and smooth dunes of the desert. Gravity allows you to surf the flat yet steep terrain on boards much like snowboards, giving you the same adrenaline rush you’d get in the snow or sea!

Water Sports 

Despite being a desert, Dubai sits on the Persian Gulf, meaning its coastal area is perfect for all water sport activities. You can find water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, catamaran tours, jetpacking sessions and even deep fishing. Whether you are in a group, wanting to attempt something new or would prefer hitting up these extreme activities solo, you can discover all you need along the coast.

Al Quadra Cycling Trail

Although cycling throughout the city of Dubai is very difficult, that doesn’t mean cycling stops here. Dubai has created the Al Quadra Cycling Trail, an 80 km long path, specifically made to cycle on. You will be riding through the gorgeous dunes of the desert and may even come across a wild horse or oryx (in the antelope family). With many stopping points with shade and a bike shop, supermarket and café on location, you can find everything you require for your biking needs.

Dubai may have all of its glamorous things to do, but that doesn’t mean the adrenaline-pumping activities are thrown out the window. Dubai literally has everything available for you to try or double down on. The options are truly endless, and you will have plenty to do while enjoying your time here.
